Summer School "Future of Food - Sustainable Food Systems"

What can and must a sustainable system of food production and consumption look like?
In the summer school, young people who want to help shape the future of food will intensively examine this question.

For one week we follow food from our own plate to agricultural production. On each day of the Summer School, we focus on one stage of the value chain and learn through lectures, multifaceted excursions and intensive discussions how food is produced today, what problems this can cause and what sustainable alternatives look like.

In 2022, the summer school took place from August 27 to September 3. Click here for the program. In 2023, we are again looking forward to an exciting week on the topic "Future of Food". The date will be announced soon.

Who can participate?

All creative minds who want to help shape the future of our food
Trainees and young employees from companies in the food industry
Food artisans such as butchers, cooks and bakers as well as food technologists
Students of all disciplines with an interest in agriculture and the food industry
Committed farmers (conventional and organic)

What does the participation cost?

The participation fee for the summer school is staggered according to solidarity. For self-payers it is 490 € and includes the educational program with excursions, meals and seven nights in a shared room in the Biohotel Schloss Kirchberg. If you participate through your company, your employer pays the company price of 750 €. You organize and pay for your own travel to and from the event.

Students and people with limited financial resources can apply for a scholarship that reduces the participation fee to € 190. This can be indicated accordingly in the application form. The order in which applications are received is decisive in the awarding of scholarships.

Become a sponsor - with your company or organization

With a sponsorship fee of 560 € you can finance a scholarship for participants with limited financial means, which reduces the participant fee to 190 €. We will be happy to include you as a sponsor with your logo in the digital presentation of the summer school and the printed program.

In addition to the sponsorship option, you as a company can of course also register participants yourself. The participant contribution is then 750 € per person from your own company.
