Tasks and Goals
The Kirchberg Castle Academy was founded in 2016 by founder and board member Rudolf Bühler and has already made a name for itself nationwide with established conferences and diverse course and training programs. In 2016, the Kirchberg Castle Academy launched its first events; since 2018, it has offered a comprehensive program with a good 35 events per year.
Provide training and adult education through the Academy:
Existing expertise is to be shared and new expertise gained through valuable partnerships. The Kirchberg Castle Academy facilitates the necessary transfer of knowledge. Current focal points in the work of Akademie Schloss Kirchberg are Climate-Friendly Agriculture and Food (Climate Farming), Localizing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (Localizing SDGs) and Localizing the UN Charter on Global Peasants' Rights (Localizing Global Peasants' Rights). New and innovative formats for the topics of organic food management are to be created through the work of the Kirchberg Castle Academy.
One focus of the educational work is on the IHK-certified advanced training course "Specialist for Organic Food in Retail", which is aimed in particular at employees in the food trade. At the week-long summer school "Future of Food - sustainable food systems", young people discuss current issues along the value chain. With the World Organic Forum in spring and the Eco-Marketing Days in fall, the Kirchberg Castle Academy has established two successful annual conference formats.
In addition, the program includes other seminars and events on various topics of organic farming, climate-friendly agriculture and food, political ecology, marketing and regional development, as well as professional and personal development.
Art and music also have a long tradition at Kirchberg Castle. This is reflected in the academy's program. One highlight is the chamber music master class that has been held at the castle for more than ten years.
